In the vibrant and culturally rich world of Yoruba movies, Jimoh Mustapha Opeyemi is emerging as a fresh talent with a vision. With roots in the town of Ode-Omu, Ayedaade Local Government, Osun State, Jimoh’s journey into the Nollywood industry reflects passion, determination, and a commitment to storytelling with purpose. Jimoh Mustapha was born and raised as the last child in a large family of ten. Growing up in Ode-Omu, he began his educational journey at D.C. Oke-Eso Primary School, located in his hometown. He later moved to Akure, Ondo State, for his secondary education at United C.A.C.

High School. Determined to further his studies, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in Accounting at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. Currently residing in Sagamu, Ogun State, Jimoh’s upbringing and education laid the foundation for his disciplined and determined approach to his career.

Unlike many who stumble into acting by chance, Jimoh’s decision to join the Yoruba movie industry was intentional and inspired by a deep desire to effect positive change in society. “I pursued acting not just out of passion but also to convey meaningful messages to society,” Jimoh explains. “My aim is to promote good morals and steer people away from bad habits.” His acting journey began when he joined TAMPAN (Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria) in Sagamu Local Government, Ogun State. This move marked the beginning of a promising career in the industry.

Navigating Challenges

Every career has its challenges, and the acting world is no exception. For Jimoh, stepping into a new field brought its own set of hurdles. “If you find yourself in a new place or a new field, it must be challenging, but as time goes on, you will overcome it,” he says. His determination and clear sense of purpose helped him push through the initial difficulties, making him better equipped to thrive in the industry.

First Acting Experience

Jimoh recalls his first acting experience with excitement and pride. “Stepping onto the stage for the first time, I felt a rush of adrenaline and a sense of purpose,” he says. Seeing the creativity and passion of his fellow actors and the production team opened his eyes to the potential of Nollywood. “I realized that Nollywood isn’t just about entertainment—it’s a platform for change and inspiration,” he adds. This eye-opening experience deepened his respect for the art of filmmaking and strengthened his resolve to contribute meaningfully to the industry.

Role Models and Inspiration

Jimoh draws inspiration from some of Nollywood’s greatest legends, including Odunlade Adekola and Ibrahim Chatta. “These are actors who have not only excelled in their craft but have also contributed immensely to the growth of the industry,” he explains.

Future Aspirations

Looking ahead, Jimoh’s ambitions extend beyond acting. He envisions himself as a leading actor and producer in Nollywood, with a focus on creating high-quality movies for cinemas and global streaming platforms like Netflix. “Everyone prays for progress,” he says. “I’m looking forward to being one of the major actors and producers in the industry.” Jimoh has already begun laying the groundwork for his aspirations, producing films that stand out for their unique storytelling and cultural depth. “If you check my movies, you’ll realize they’re not in any way regular,” he proudly notes. His goal is to keep improving on his craft and pushing the boundaries of creativity in Nollywood.

For Jimoh Mustapha, acting is more than just a career—it’s a calling. Through his work, he aims to inspire change, promote cultural values, and leave a lasting impact on the industry. With his

talent, determination, and commitment to meaningful storytelling, Jimoh is poised to become a prominent figure in Nollywood, making his mark as both an actor and a filmmaker.
