In a chat with Citypeople, Jamiu Abubakar, Monsurat revealed a lot about her acting career and how she is gradually evolving. these are put under the sub headings below:

A Spark Lit by Toyin Abraham

“Entertainment and acting have always been my desire,” Monsurat shares. Watching Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi on screen gave her the courage to pursue her dreams. Inspired by Toyin’s charisma and versatility, Monsurat took her first steps into acting through the church drama group GOFADRAM (God Foundation Drama Group).

A significant turning point came when she confided in a friend about her dreams. Initially met with skepticism, Monsurat’s persistence convinced her friend to introduce her to Mr. Idowu Adenekan, a seasoned filmmaker. “That was how my journey into acting began,” she recalls.

Overcoming Challenges

As a young woman striving to make her mark in Nollywood, Monsurat faced numerous challenges. “Being a female actor working hard to become a celebrity requires the grace of God, patience, prayers, and transparency,” she admits. With these guiding principles, she has been able to navigate the complexities of the industry.

The First-Time Jitters

Monsurat’s first experience in front of the camera was nerve-wracking. “I was so scared and shaking. I knew my lines, but fear got the better of me,” she says. However, actor Lateef Adedimeji stepped in to offer words of encouragement. “He told me that everyone on set was human, just like me, and if I stayed calm, I would go far in this career. His advice helped me overcome my fear.”

Role Models and Lessons from Owolabi Ajasa

Monsurat attributes much of her growth to the influence of her mentors. Watching Toyin Abraham’s dedication on screen continues to inspire her. She also credits Owolabi Ajasa, famously known as Nollywood’s “Police Officer,” for teaching her valuable lessons.

“Mr. Owolabi Ajasa is a man of his word. He doesn’t look down on anyone. If he chooses to work with you, he ensures you perfect your role,” she says. She has also learned from other Nollywood figures such as Afeez Abiodun (Owo) and Director Wasiu Owoiya, whose guidance has enriched her career.

Ambitions and Future Projects

Monsurat is determined to take on any role, no matter how challenging or demanding it may be. “I am ready to undergo rigorous training to perfect any character,” she asserts. She dreams of portraying a powerful young woman in a role that will surprise and captivate audiences.

Beyond acting, Monsurat is committed to her education. “I pray to continue my studies and obtain a master’s degree,” she says, recognizing the importance of personal and professional growth.

Carving a Unique Identity

For Monsurat, acting is more than a profession—it’s her calling. She plans to build a distinctive personal brand that sets her apart in the industry. With her talent, determination, and the support of her mentors, Monsurat Eniafe Enitan is poised to make a lasting impact in Nollywood.

Her story is a testament to the power of inspiration, hard work, and mentorship in turning dreams into reality. As she continues to grow and shine, Monsurat hopes to inspire others to follow their passions, just as Toyin Abraham once inspired her.
