Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has revealed that the Ballon d’Or used to “drive [him] crazy,” but believes he now has a real shot at winning the prestigious award in 2025 following a stellar season.
Speaking to former Manchester United captain Gary Neville on Sky Sports, the Egyptian winger opened up about his evolving mindset:
“It [Ballon d’Or] used to drive me crazy before. Some things are just out of your control, so I stopped stressing about it. I would love to win it one day. But if it doesn’t happen, I don’t know what to do. I believe there’s a good chance to win it this year — but we’ll see.”
Salah has been instrumental in Liverpool’s success this season, helping the club clinch the Premier League title. The 32-year-old has racked up an impressive 33 goals and 23 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.
